single bet calculator
So — been using this thing for maybe four months now and it's basically bookmarked at this point, reckon I'd say something since someone asked me the other day. Am based in the UK, generally do football and horses, nothing mad, so take it how you like.
The reason I started using it was honestly a bit daft — I couldn't ever figure out what an e/w payout actually came to when the place terms changed. I used to just wing it and then be surprised. These days I punch the numbers in first, every time, even the boring singles.
The single bet calculator is the part I open most — you put in stake and odds and it shows profit and total return with no faffing, fractions or decimals. Same tool covers the fiddly ones — acca and treble maths, a lucky 15, patents and yankees, which is where most people I know lose track. Have a go yourself, it's here calculate each way odds — free, no signup.
One thing that really changed how I bet were the nerdier bits. There's an odds-to-probability thing and it makes obvious what margin's baked in, and there's the kelly criterion calculator — I stick to fractional kelly as the full version is far too aggressive. Dutching calculator gets used a fair bit for when I'm splitting a race.
Couple of gripes. Its interface looks a bit basic — not much polish, it's clearly function over form. On mobile it's usable although the acca grid are a squeeze. And no proper app, it's a website and that's it — slight shame but you asked.
So yeah. Free, not plastered in adverts, works. Anyone who still adds it up in their head, have a look — saves me plenty of arguments with the bookie.
